an always incomplete list of life goals...with deadlines


May 3, 2013                Take a daily picture to continue my 365 project and never stop
June 1, 2013                Start Monthly Checkpoints and never stop
Fall 2013                     Put LiveSyllabi (working name) concept into action
October 27, 2013        Marine Corps Marathon: soft goal: 3:00:00, hard goal: 2:50:00. 
Spring 2014                 Visit new continent on Global Experience at Georgetown’s MSB
May 16, 2014              Have earned the tennis respect of John Nespoli
April 21, 2014             Run Boston Marathon faster than I run MCM.
2016                            Have run a sub 6 minute mile pace (sub 1:18:36) Half Marathon
Spring 2017                 If still in DC, have set up a DC Chapter of B3 and take first DC based trip
Summer 2020              Have joined friends that are first timers to Run with the Bulls
Spring 2023                 Visit Maine, completing visits to all 50 states
May 12, 2023              Be decent at golf, shooting consistently in the 80s
May 12, 2023              Have: skydived in Australia, safari’ed in Africa, climbed two of the Seven Summits, seen the 49ers win the Super Bowl in person, had my Bachelor Party in Iceland, and run the perimeter of Lake Tahoe in a day.
2028                            Have run the London, Berlin and Sydney Marathons
                                   
2038                            See my children get academic or athletic college scholarships
2040                            Semi-retire into middle school gym teaching and coaching track or rowing


2070                            Meet great grandson, William Kavanaugh Downey VI
May 12, 1983              Live to the century mark
2083+                          Have loved my life outside of work
Seen the USA win the World Cup (live)
Make a six-figure score in a poker tournament.
Write a screenplay that is purchased and green lit
Have donated noticeable sums of money to the Laddie Lawrence Scholarship Fund, Boston College Men’s Crew, and Builders Beyond Borders

After I die                   Have strict dress code at my funeral: bright colors and smiles
